About Rover| Roshanak Morrowatian
Roshanak Morrowatian (1989, Iran) is a maker and dancer based in Amsterdam/Maastricht. She graduated from the Folkwang University of the Arts in Germany and has performed in the work of Marina Abramovic, Isabelle Beernaert, Pina Bausch and Alexis Blake amongst others.

Unnoticed details and forgotten stories take the leading role in the work of Rover | Roshanak Morrowatian. As an artist, she explores the physical roots of memory, fluidity of traditions and the diasporic identity.

About 5.566 km: Stories of Sheroes
Morrowatian is doing this research together with her mother: teacher Mahnaz Heygharnejadi. During the first residency, they dived into the studio with the question: what was your dream as a young woman?
Protests have erupted in Iran since the death of 22-year-old Jina Mahsa Amini in September 2022, the first counter-revolution led by women and queer people. 5,566 km: Stories of Sheroes tells the story of another generation, a generation in exile but with the same dreams of freedom.
*Presentation will be in Dutch.
